Hello, everyone! My name is Megan Sims, and my team and I are so excited to be partnering with this beautiful parish. We run a youth center called the Underground for inner city teens, particularly teens in Carrick and Mt. Oliver, as well as a few in Allentown. Our mission is to break the cycle of hopelessness that is found in the inner city by bringing the love of Christ to these teens who have never really encountered it before. A parish partnership is something that is essential to making our Undergrounds successful because it allows the teens to see the greater community that comes with Christianity, beyond just our youth centers.
Another important aspect of this kind of partnership is the ways we can help each other grow as a faith community. We have spoken with some incredible leaders in the parish about how we can really help each other, but for now, here are a couple of ways!
During the week, we have our regular youth night, and one aspect is eating dinner together. We have a meal train website in which people can sign up to donate a meal. This is a huge help for us, and the teens always appreciate it, so here is the link for the website: Meal Train. Another way to help is our Underground, like any youth ministry, is looking for core team members. Not only does our core team allow for an extra set
of eyes, but it also allows for extra people to love the teens authentically, which is the most important part.
We look forward to meeting more of you in the coming weeks. You are in our prayers, please keep us in yours. And if you see us at Mass, please introduce yourself, we love to meet people!
Blessings,
Allentown Underground

Forever Home Beagle Recue is looking for foster homes in the Pittsburgh area!
From puppies to seniors, we are always in need of a safe place for pups to stay while we fix them up and find them a new home. We cover all expenses, you cover the love and help them heal and prepare for their new life.
Fostering is very rewarding, if somewhat difficult, and vital part of rescue. Since we don't have kennel, we can only help as many dogs as we have foster homes willing to take them. For more information, please email us at FHBRinfo@gmail.com, text or call 412-345-3003.
Every foster dog you take in until adoption saves TWO lives - that pup, and the one that gets to take his/her place in the shelter.
Thank you for wanting to make a difference in a homeless dog's life!
